Although most of the call was difficult to decipher, I was just happy to hear my sons voice!!!
The team is getting very close to Askole, where she they will take jeeps to Skardu and then catch a flight to Islamabad. Perhaps they will be able to get a MUCH needed shower in Skardu. Good luck with the WILD jeep ride ( Mr. Toads Wild Ride!!!). Love you Honey💗💗
You guys are motivated! I’m impressed with the early starts on your “easy” trekking days. Perhaps you are motivated by the thought of the warm dry bed that lies ahead, but you also are probably in need of a new bottle of scotch. Keep on trekking.

I spoke with your mom yesterday and she gave me an update… Hopefully the early departure doesn’t jack up the airline ticket price too bad! The most important thing is getting you back on U.S soil… more specifically Arvin soil, so you can give your mom and dad some well deserved hugs and kisses. We are sooo pleased that all of your training and planning paid off, and that the weather cooperated beautifully! GREAT PICTURES!!!!
Safe travels John!

Safe travels home John!
Hello ! I am a complete unknown french girl and I don’t even remember how I arrived on your website (I was looking for some information regarding the Everest Base Camp trek and one of the link was your website… maybe because of the key words “Everest base camp”:-)). Anyway, I am truly amazed by what you did and followed your journey from July 12 to today ! I even followed the tracker on summit push day ! Then I read your journal and discovered what you did last year at Everest and Lhotse !!! You are amazing ! Just wanted to tell you know that, I am really amazed by your strenght and by what human beings like you are able to do ! I don’t have the dream to climb such monsters (ahahah not even in my dreams !) but inspired by what you did I might try a small summit here in the Pyrénées 😉 Thanks for allowing strangers like me to follow your achievements, it is really inspiring ! Enjoy your time back with your family and as your mom said: enjoy your next shower !
Thanks,
Karine (from France !)
Haha – what a story, Mark!
