Hello everybody out there this is Geoff Schellens with John, we’re at Camp 3 on K2, we climbed the black pyramid today, John is engaging climbing which is challenging at times but good overall, we started using oxygen today at a low flow rate that helped us get form Camp 2 to Camp 3, we are now sitting at 24,000 ft on the dot and everyone is doing really well, clouds have dissipated and given us beautiful views, the plan is to sleep in a little bit and we have a shorter day to Camp 4 mostly of snow walking, then set ourselves up for summit the day after fingers crossed. That’s all for now thanks for following along, bye!

Geoff! So great to hear from you… Also, so happy to hear you guys made it safely to C3. Will be watching anxiously for you guys to make your next move. Keep up the good work and take care of yourselves, gentlemen!
Heart pounding, praying hard for all of you!
Thanks for the call John and Geoff. Eat and rest well and accept the mountain’s next challenge to C4. Love you guys.
Always so happy to see an email come across my screen from you guys!! So glad you are all doing well and that you’ve had some better weather. You deserve to clearly see the beast that your climbing! Onward and upward — one step at a time. Prayers to you all as always. Be safe.
I send best wishes for success and safety for all.
congradulations on camp 3. One more camp, then onto the summit and return.
Praising God for your safe travel and continued safety and safe return.
May God continue to keep you safe
Thanks for the update. Enjoy the snow walking… I suppose snowman making isn’t real practical at 24,000 feet, hmmm? A little too dry perhaps? Onward and upward! We’ll be praying for a safe ascent; then smooth “dismount”!!
It was nice to hear Geoff’s voice and maybe someday I will get to meet this great friend of yours. You have such nice friends. It looks like you guys might be on the move again as I see a flashing StendoSpot. In your honor, I will make a margarita and cheer you guys on from the much warmer Hollywood Hills. Keep up the good teamwork and stay focused! Whoo Hoo!
Hi Geoff,
So great that the climb is going well, and that you are all safe !!!
Love following your adventures…….
This is so exciting!!! I can’t wait to shout they made it!!!! Cheering and praying for a safe summit and return, from NYC. I’ve told everyone I know about you all, Incase you didn’t know most NY’ers aren’t that adventurous, crossing our busy streets requires a rest afterward lol
Hi John and team,
It’s been awhile since I’ve checked on you all. Lots of DC trips lately trying to navigate turbulent trade climate and keep those almonds moving around the world. Hopefully those nuts have been working overtime keeping you all strong and nourished. I was so thrilled to read of your progress and good weather. I’m saying my prayers and have a good feeling about next few days. Godspeed gentlemen and listen to the mountain.
My heart rate is up, my head is throbbing, and I’m sometimes finding it difficult to breathe or eat…. and I am NOT even ON K2……but my flesh and blood is! This next 48 hours is going to be excruciatingly difficult! Being a Mother is not for wimps!!!!!
From Mom to Mom. Well said, “being a mom is not for wimps!”- and all three of my adult Cal Poly grads are NOT on a mountain at 26,000 feet- however please know know that’ this Mom, is praying for your son and his team!
You guys got this!!!
Geoff-
We love getting the report and our hearts and minds are with you. I join many of your friends here when I send all our love from the Cedars!
XOXOX, Carolynne
